Increase storage capacity of PST for Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016

Search : max pst size outlook 2016 Via the Registry

To increase the maximum size of pst-files and ost-files in Outlook, you’ll need to create and set 2 values in the following location in the Registry;

From <https://www.msoutlook.info/question/increase-pst-file-size-limit>

From: http://gulfinfotech.com/increase-storage-capacity-of-pst-for-outlook-2003-2007-2010-2013/

You may modify the following UNICODE Registry values to increase the limits:

The MaxLargeFileSize registry entry. The MaxFileSize registry entry determines the absolute
maximum
size that both the .pst and the .ost files can grow to. After this maximum size is reached,
Outlook does not permit the size of the file to grow beyond this size.
The WarnLargeFileSize registry entry. The WarnFileSize registry entry determines the maximum
data that both the .pst and the .ost files can have. After this maximum data is reached,
neither the .pst nor the .ost files are permitted to add any more data. However, the size of
the physical file may still increase because of internal processes.

 In our example: 30720 for Outlook 2003 and 2007 and 102400 for Outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016

In our example (decimal):
30720 X 95% = 29184 for Outlook 2003 and 2007
100 GB = 102400 X 95% =  97280 for Outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016.
200 GB = 204800 X 95% = 194560 for Outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016.

IMAP server closed the connection Error Code 0x800cccdd in MS Outlook

From: https://jhost.co/my/index.php?fuse=knowledgebase&view=KB_viewArticle&articleId=98

The IMAP connections are live connections and will receive the mail regardless of your scheduled
send/receive settings. If you create a separate send/receive group in Outlook (Tools -> Send/Receive ->
Send/Receive settings -> Define Send/Receive groups...) for the IMAP mailbox you can avoid the pop-up by
de-selecting the option to “Schedule an automatic send/receive every X minutes.” This sends a NOOP request
that works great for Exchange but is not a standard amongst all IMAP implementations (i.e. Zimbra postfix).

A spate of recent updates caused problems in Outlook and the short-term fix is to uninstall the update;
however, updates can’t be uninstalled from the Click-To-Run installations of Office, and almost all

Cashed Exchange Mode

From: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj683103(v=office.15).aspx

If you work with a very large mailbox, you can reduce the size of the local data file by using Cached Exchange Mode with the Exchange Fast Access Sync Slider enabled. Sync Slider allows an Outlook 2013 user to limit the email messages that are synchronized locally in an Outlook data file (.ost). By default, if Cached Exchange Mode is enabled, Outlook 2013 will only cache email messages from the last 12 months and it will remove anything older than 12 months from the local cache. The email messages that are removed from the local cache will still be available for users to view. Users can scroll to the end of an email list in a folder and then choose the message Click here to view more on Microsoft Exchange to view the email messages that were removed. For more information, see Synchronization, disk space, and performance considerations for Cached Exchange Mode.

Do you have a large .pst file or .ost file?

If you have a large .pst or .ost file, you may experience application pauses while you perform typical operations in Outlook. These typical operations include reading email messages, moving email messages, and deleting email messages.

When you use Outlook 2010, the following .ost size guidelines generally apply: Up to 5 gigabytes (GB): This file size should provide a good user experience on most hardware. Between 5 and 10 GB: This file size is typically hardware dependent. Therefore, if you have a fast hard disk and lots of RAM, your experience will be better. However, slower hard disk drives, such as drives that are typically found on portable computers or early-generation solid-state drives (SSDs), experience some application pauses when the drives respond. More than 10 GB: When the .ost file reaches this size, short pauses begin to occur on most hardware.

Both show same size on delivered mail. Don't know why?

From: http://superuser.com/questions/211020/prevent-outlook-2010-insert-picture-resizing-image

Update: The 96 dpi mentioned in my answer above is not fixed. In Windows, you can choose to set the DPI value to other settings using for example, Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Display in Windows 7. This change affects the DPI value that MS Office products use.

If your text size is set to something other than “Smaller” (i.e., 100% / 96 DPI), you will have to use a DPI setting other than 96 DPI, depending on the text scaling factor you have set. This is especially true on laptops where people tend to use larger text settings, because their screens are much smaller (often set this way right out of the factory). For example, if you are using Medium size text (i.e., 125% of the 96 DPI value), your images will have to have their DPI setting changed to 120 in order not to get rescaled/resampled when inserted into Outlook.
