+====== Windows 11’s forced Microsoft account results in default file locations being changed to OneDrive ======
 +
+The Problem: Windows 11’s forced Microsoft account results in default file locations being changed to OneDrive. If you do not want to use OneDrive, you want your files away from that evil location. But when you try to reset the location for the Documents, Pictures, etc. folders back to their default locations, you are told the operation can’t be done because the folders already exist and some other BS.
 +  * The Solution:
+  * If you have uninstalled OneDrive, you will need to install it again for a while.
+  * Sign into your Microsoft account on the OneDrive app.
+  * Click the OneDrive icon on the system tray,
+  * then go to the Settings menu in the upper right corner.
 +  * Choose Options.
+  * Go to the Backup tab and turn off file backup for each folder.
+  * Still in the OneDrive Options, go to the Account tab
+  * and Unlink your PC. This is important. This is the step that will reset the file locations back to the default folders.
+  * After unlinking your PC, you should be signed out of OneDrive.
+  * You can uninstall it now.
+  * Go to your Local Disk C > Users > your username.
+  * Take a look at the folders and if necessary, move files out of the OneDrive folder back into their respective folders outside of OneDrive.
+  * Once you have moved all the files, you can delete the OneDrive folder.
+  * After you have your files back where they belong, you may want to sign into OneDrive from a web browser and delete any files Microsoft copied without your explicit consent. Be sure to empty the Recycle Bin on the OneDrive website before closing the browser.
